Well the new room is definetly better than the last. And the apartment actually feels much bigger having to walk all the way down to it. Unfortuatly it just keeps on getting hotter. The humidiy is the real killer at night; just sitting there watching TV or trying to sleep and sweating like I've just run a marathon.
Went to a school BBQ last week near Koshien. Originally when I'd been asked by the staff to come along, I figured there would be loads of teachers going. But then when it turned out I was the first teacher to sign up I found out most of them don't like to go - paying a tenner to go on your day off to what amounts to a free lesson for the students. It didn't occur to me to think as cynically as this (which must be a first) so when I got to the BBQ there was only one other teacher there and one who arrived later. There were a couple of students that I knew and said hello to, but most of them went to the school on days I wasn't working. BBQ's here don't seem to be the burger fest they are back home either - food consisted of Yakiniku which was nice, but a burger would have been nice too. And it was sooo feckin hot.
No other news in work - same ol same old. I can't believe I'm starting to miss computer work a little. I guess one of the things is that when I go to work here I'm constantly on show - I have to look like the cheery foreigner. I miss the ability to sit at my desk and not talk to anybody if I'm feeling pissed off. And doing the same lessons over and over (not to mention some nightmare kids) has recently been doing my head in. Anyway, in two weeks theres a break from kids classes for a week which will be nice. And in a month theres the summer holidays.
