Ravenous Pigeon Digest

Everyman and his dog has a rant to tell about Dublin's public transport, or lack thereof. We've been promised by the government a metro or a train to the airport or some super duper improvement to public transport system for ages now, only to be told that its just round the corner each time. This is doubly annoying for anybody who's been to a city where they have this stuff worked out and you can see what a difference it makes.

This map, produced by the DTO, shows a "circle line" metro, lots of tram lines, a train to the airport, and generally looks like a proper public transport system you'd see in other European cities. So fat chance it'll ever get built.

It must have been thought up a few years ago as it already contradicts the layout of the recently build tram system. Still, we can always hope (as we stand in the pissing rain waiting for a late bus)..
