I've used up most of my holidays for this summer already, having gone to Japan and stuff, but I really wanted to go away for a little during the depressing summer - depressing, that is, because I have to stay while everyone off in tv-land! seems to go on class holidays. I came across SiteScanner which allows you to book plane tickets without specifying any particular destination. This is nice if your looking for the cheapest possible holiday and don't really care where you go – as I was.
Now I've booked a long weekend to France in July, and the bet with myself is to try and keep costs – tickets, accommodation, food – to below 200euro and still manage to enjoy myself.
It would have been cool to use SeatGuru too, which is pretty cool. It allows you to check out various airlines and see how strict they are on luggage and check in, and most importantly which seats have ok legroom and which ones are crap. Unfortunatly it doesn't really have any of the European budget airlines on it, but still worth a mention..
I'll be going to Strasbourg as it's the nearest city to the airport – I haven't been there since I was three or four years old when my parents lost me for a few hours on holiday. Maybe the chance to see the place again will bring back some fun, traumatic repressed memories or something!
