Well seeing as the best thing on tv right now are the Eurovision Song Contest qualifiers (..really, what a dreadful spectacle), I guess I really have no excuse not to update..

Last weekend we tested out the idea of going to London via ferry and overnight bus to see if anything could be of worse service than Ryanair. It was interesting being on the car ferry to Hollyhead again, the first time since school, and it was mostly empty except for scanger teenagers getting pissed. The bus sped through the night and dumped us in the city at 7.30, bleary eyed and with nowhere open. At 8am only the hardiest of tourists are walking around..

OVer the weekend we did you usual touristy stuff but seeing as we were getting less than 50p to 1 euro, skipped anything requiring hefty entry fees (basically everywhere). The tube is always cool as are the combination of faces and languages that you don't get anywhere else. We found somewhere that sold ponzu and and even found a Beard Papa shop on Oxford street.

The flight back was such a contrast to coming back from Venice. We checked in everything, flew through security and checkin, relaxed in the nicer airport terminal in Gatwick, got an actual seat number, along with nuts and free drinks and didn't have to disembark in Dublin at a porta-kabin. What a contrast..
