Went to see Riverdance last Friday night, having avoided it up until now since Carrolls souvenir shops started to use it as instore background music, forever looping. It really deserves a much bigger stage than the Gaiety theatre could give, despite looking good in its newly refurbished old-time splendour.
The show wasn't just limited to Irish dance - there were other types of dance on display, Spanish and Eastern European and the crowing achievement was a dance off between Irish Immigrants and tap dancing New Yorkers.
If the majority of the audience hadn't been young enough to comfortably stand, there would having been a rousing ovation.
(I know the photo isn't strictly from Riverdance, but who could resist Michael Flatleys action pose)
