Ravenous Pigeon Digest

Moving happliy coincided with the opening of Sydneys newest rail line after a very long wait. Of course not having been here these past few years means I haven't been around to complain about how long it's taken, how expensive and over budget its been, and other trivialities such as building the line too steeply so only certain trains could use it.

I am definitely not complaining. The new line is basically three new underground stations joining two big suburban ones. The stations themselves are actually pretty impressive - especially compared to any anything else in Sydney. They're big and minimalist without being drab. We'd be really lucky in Dublin if could get anything like this. It's also just as well that only the newest trains can use the tunnel as I can imagine the contrast between the other graffiti filled old bangers and the clean new stations.

On top of that the line is free for the first 100 days, so not only has it reduced my work commute by half an hour, it will be less than half price for the next while too.
