Recently in IKEA to buy, among a few bits a pieces, a fabulous MDF constructed couch. Sitting at the collection point waiting for our purchase, I noticed they have these signs hanging up on the wall in IKEA colours, which just happen to match those of Ryanair, and after reading them I thought they also bore a resemblance to Ryanair's attitude to customer service:

"Why isn't there always an assistant when I need one? - The information you need is on the price tag. Serving yourself means you don't pay for help you don't need. - That's why."

"Why are we obsessed with keeping things flat? - IKEA furniture is flat-packed. This means it's cheaper for us to store and transport. - That's why."

Why is it when I read those, the "That's why" sounded like a "So Fuck off!"?

Anyway, perhaps comparisons to Ryanair are a little unfair; at least IKEA aren't charging people to use the toilet.
