Fake newspaper story..

This isn't new really, just depressing. Some guy from indymedia.ie wanted to see how thoroughly newspapers check their sources before printing articles. Well it seems the Star Sunday in Ireland doesn't check them at all. This guy created an anonymous e-mail account and sent a letter pretending to be from a residents association making a complaint about drugs on the luas. And the paper printed the story without confirming even a single allegation in the e-mail. Yeah, i know the Star is just a tabloid and whatever, but its just a perfect example of how the media here can whip up some fake outrage with zero effort. link..
