In visiting this country, I probably did myself no good by visiting Singapore and Hong Hong before had a good feel for the place after visting Singapore and Hong Kong as you could probably construct Taipei from various parts see the same culture influences on each of them.

We arrived at the hotel sometime after 6am as the sun was oming up. We got up slightly later and visited Taipei 101, the tallest skyscraper in the world and also the fastest lifts in world. We were whisked to the 89th floor in 30 seconds, pressurised. The weather was a lot somewhat hotter than expected and when walking around Chiang Kai Shek memorial we had to run from one shaded spot to another. This place was absolutely huge, and we visted unkie Shek sitting on his huge throne with two motionless guards to each side.

On our second day we ventured south of Taipei into the countryside a little and nearly froze my ass off in my t-shirt as the feckin temperature dropped a lot. was glad of the refreshing dip in temperatures. The mountain scenary was misty and atmospheric but our spa town destination resembled the industrial poor China I'd seen on tv a little too much. was undergoing reconstruction and will no doubt look fabulous by next year!

All too soon we had to go back to the airport early the following morning. An extra day or two to travel to the south would really have been worth it and only a few days in Taiwan, like anywhere doesn't do it justice.
