I know these aren't new, but I happned to come across google Zeitgeist and google trends the other day. They're an interesting diversion, and I like how you can check out the most popular search query's by country.
For example, April's top ten keyword searchs for Ireland have among them: Ryanair, Eircom, Aer lingus, Meteor, myhome.ie, daft.ie, Bus eireann.. in other words suprisingly local.
The UK was slightly less provincial, needing info on Angelina Jolie, Paintball and Miniclip.
The US was almost completely celebrities, and as for the Japanese one..a quick google image search of their top ten told me what I already knew.
