Today my train to work was delayed by 5 minutes while we sat on the Harbour Bridge, then 10 minutes, then by 20 minutes at another station and so on until we eventually crawled into my station over an hour late. This meant I'd long missed my connecting bus, that there wouldn't be another bus for an hour, and I was reduced to calling my boss to give me a lift to the office. So I ended up being over an hour late for work even though I successfully got my usual train. This meant of course I had to put in the missing hour at the end of the day, which meant I missed the last bus back to the train station and meant had to walk through the pitch dark back to the train station. Now that was a commuting annoyance worthy of Irish Rail.
Note to self: get a feckin' car.
