Sunday was another Irish-summer-style winter day; lots of people out in shorts and sunglasses sunnies. Took my first ferry across the harbour over to Taronga zoo and twas first chance to see real life Koalas and Kangaroos, Echidnae(?) and Platypi (?) ...
Usually theres the lovely stink of animals at zoos, but all the eucalyptus being munched actually gave a nice scent to the place. Its has a pretty cool location, with the backdrop of the sydney skyline behind huge giraffes and such. And you can just walk into some of the animal pens and stand a few feet from wallabies or an emu with no wall between.
Snow leopards are really cool, even if they're taking a dump. As are Red Pandas. And Fennec Foxes. And Fishing Cats.
