Saw the new iMac on display in Yodobashi camera in Umeda the other day. And i must admit it looks pretty swish..but then again the older one with the moveable screen was reall cool too...so i dunno.
Can`t believe I missed these signs before on the restraunt level of the place. Click below for a full picture..
But then yesterday I went to the new Mac shop that opened up in Shinsaibashi in Osaka which is very swish..all minimalist furniture with rows of new and old macs around the place and tonnes of iPods and such..very nice. And while in Shinsaibashi, went to my first "Popeye" interent cafe chain; twas class. These places aren`t just internet cafes...you can rent what amounts to an oversized office cubicle with a door, where you can recline on a nice couch and watch dvds or use the internet or watch tv for a few hours..perfect for when you miss the last train. You can rent one of them for 6 hours for less than 20quid..they even have shower facilities and free drinks. Now that is descent interent cafe. Pity I wasted my time with my friend watching "Basic".
As for the school week, it was short because of two public holidays and thank feck for another kids break week. Back to the grind on Tuesday.
Can`t believe how hot it still is here..still 26 degrees at midnight and its almost October.
Found out my kind of new American flatmate is already quitting and moving to South Korea for greener pastures..or more money. I don`t think the company was too please with him quitting so soon. But the new job in Korea does sound pretty sweet...less hours, paid for accomodation, company car, cheaper living costs. And now I have to face another new flatmate; god knows what they`ll be like.
Theres a highschool student in one of my schools that hangs around after class and seems to be interested in Ireland a little (to the point of listenting to D-side cds of all things). But she`s going to be taking an English test soon to try and qualify for a homestay program but she has to decide between the States or Ireland. Not having that much English, I`ve been talking to her a little about it through the school staff, and the staff want to know where I would recommed for a homestay - Ireland or the States. Now, I should really just have said Ireland immediately but I couldn`t bring myself to say it. I mean, I stopped to think about it a second and tried to think where this highschool student would have more fun..in some city in the States or in Dublin. And I just couldn`t say for sure that Ireland would be a cooler place to go. So if anybody out there could provide me with some solid reasons why I should recommed she go to Ireland (apart from the fact that I owe it to my country or something) I would be much obliged......
